Patterns

Here I am wearing stripes, florals, and polka dots and thoroughly enjoying myself. This outfit was so comfortable, too!

Thrifted shirt and skirt. Vintage necklace. Found belt. Wal-mart boots.

And here's another picture in which Chewey decided to obstruct the view of my boots. Silly Chewey, always having to be the center of attention. Like you don't get enough attention already! Spoiled brat.

The Hat is Wearing Me

So I was just sitting here in the basement drinking some PBR and listening to Manson by myself while everyone else is asleep upstairs (PARTY MONSTER!), when I realized, Hey, this outfit is pretty cute, I should take pictures! Obviously the lighting at one AM is not ideal, but I kind of like the creepy vibe I've got going on here.

Sweater and tank top from Rue 21. Thrifted skirt. Shoes were given to me by a co-worker. Necklace was my grandmother's.

I added some cheap black lipstick I got from the Halloween section at Wal-mart so I would look a little more eerie and so I could feel like I was in a black and white movie (Addison's dad said this outfit was "so 40's"). And these red curtains in our bedroom remind me of the Black Lodge from Twin Peaks.

Addison just got home from Applebee's, where he had drinks with his co-workers, and he told me he had something called an Irish Trashcan, which was made with Redbull and whiskey. The fact that he is talking my head off right now proves the Trashcan did its trick; GOSH, ADDISON, STOP DISTRACTING ME, BLOGGING IS SRS BUSINESS!

Just kidding. I'm going to go hang out with him now.

Bittersweet Me

I was thinking of Asian gore films when I put this outfit together. I wanted to look like a schoolgirl who is also a killing machine. I'm not sure if I pulled it off, but it was still fun to try.

Glitter shirt and schoolgirl skirt from bag sale at The Ark. Skull tights and sunglasses from Rue 21. Boots from Wal-Mart.

Battle Royale

The Machine Girl

In other news, R.E.M. broke up. R.E.M. has been my favorite band for over ten years, and I was hoping I would get to see them live at least once more (they were the first band I ever saw in concert, back in 1999). It doesn't appear I will get my wish. I would be lying if I said I wasn't heartbroken by this (I might have shed a few tears), but at least I can still listen to their music.

The Edge of the Desert

Vintage USMC shirt. Thrifted fringe shirt. Found belt. Rue 21 jeans, shoes, and bracelets.

I got this marine shirt at an estate sale in Dalton. I love it because it has obviously been through a lot: there is a rip on the back that was crookedly sewn shut, causing the shirt to be slightly asymmetrical, and there are rust-colored stains of unknown origin on the front and back of the shirt. Also, this shirt is very soft and cozy and I just want to be like Lindsay Weir and live in it forever.

The fringed top is something I picked up at the paper bag sale I mentioned in my last post. I'm actually wearing it backwards in these pictures because it's a crop top, and when worn the way it was intended to be worn, it reveals a bit more midriff than I'm comfortable with showing. (OK, a lot more -- this shirt is pretty scandalous.)

While we are on the subject of fringe, I watched three episodes of the show Fringe the other day, and though I was kind of clueless as to what was going on (due to diving right in to the end of season three), I really enjoyed it, and I wish I could watch it instantly on Netflix because I'm too impatient for mail sometimes.

Also, Pacey's cute. (I know, I know, his name is Joshua Jackson, but he will always be Pacey to me. ♥)

Reality Bites

Long time no post! I'm finally (almost) settled in to my new place. Addison and I live with his parents and brothers now. The house is a little crowded, but that's all right -- it's pretty cozy too. And check out all these trees!

One of the best things that's happened to me since moving here is finding this thrift store called The Ark. For the entire month of September, this store is having a bag sale, where you get to pay five dollars and cram a paper grocery bag as full of clothes as possible. I went last week and got this dress and a few other items. Since I managed to fit ten different articles of clothing in my bag, it's like I only paid fifty cents for each piece! Best Shopper Award goes to me.

In the past week, three different strangers (all of whom happened to be senior citizens) have told me I look like "Abby from NCIS."

I'm just glad she's warmed the seniors' hearts to girls who like to wear black.

And here's one more picture of Chewey because he's a camwhore. (Did you see him posing in that outfit picture with me?)
