Geeks Do Not Have Pedigrees

I have no clue what we were looking at here.

The weather outside today was perfect for playing fetch with Chewey, even though he isn't very good at that game. He tends to look in the wrong place for the stick, then get distracted and run back to me like he's expecting me to throw something else for him. Silly dog. He should stick to what he's good at, like dancing and doing flips. Maybe fetch is just too basic for him.

Thrifted cardigan and shorts. Rue 21 hairbow, shirt, and tights. Wal-mart boots.

Zombie Walk Revisited

Here are a few more photos from Chattanooga Zombie Walk on Saturday.

Don't mind Ginger, she's just licking herself, that's all.

Zombie Walk

Occupy Chattanooga . . . with ZOMBIES.

my darling boyfriend

Today Addison, his brothers Brett and Christopher, our friend Steve, and I all went to Zombie Walk in Chattanooga. Roaming around downtown Chattanooga with a bunch of strangers dressed as zombies was probably the most fun I've ever had. Unsuspecting passersby laughed, took pictures, and/or screamed and hid their children as we passed. Brett (in the top hat in the first picture) was hilariously in character, and everyone's costumes were great. Zombie Walk might not be a movement like SlutWalk or Occupy Wall Street, but I still think we made a difference in people's lives today.

DIY shirt. Thifted skirt. Wal-Mart Halloween tights and boots. Dollar Tree necklace. Rue 21 hairbow and bra.

Addison's full costume and his shirt drying in the sun.

"Heineken?! Fuck that shit! Pabst! Blue! Ribbon!"

Addison took these pictures of me (because I told him he had to if he wanted me to give him a cigarette) in our bedroom. I really like these red curtains.

Rue 21 jacket. Ancient hoodie. Batman pins were a gift from my dad. T-shirt was stolen from a friend who stole it from her sister. Thrifted skirt. Hard Candy "Night Out" lipstick. Pabst Blue Ribbon.

The Owls Are Not What They Seem

This is what I wore on my birthday, which I celebrated by getting an anchovy pizza at Rafael's. (Rafael's is this amazing pizza joint that has BUY ONE GET ONE FREE PIZZAS. So even though Addison is one of those weird people who thinks anchovies are gross, he still got to get in on some pizza action with me.)

This dress is one of my favorite thrift finds ever. It's really comfy and soft and a bit witchy. I'm crazy about it.

Rue 21 jacket. Thrifted dress. Vintage necklace. Wal-mart boots.

Oh, and I got a tattoo for my birthday, too.
It's the symbol from the Owl Cave on Twin Peaks. It was done by Rick at Body Art Ink in Dalton, GA. He did two of the other tattoos I have, as well. He's the sweetest guy in the world, and he does good work.

Never Tear us Apart

I channeled Donnie Darko when I came up with this outfit: black sweater and skeleton tights like Donnie on Halloween, silver glitter shirt like Frank's bunny costume, and a schoolgirl skirt (because the school uniforms in that movie were adorable). And while we are talking about Donnie Darko, am I the only one who prefers the theatrical version to the director's cut? I thought the theatrical version was nice and poignant in its simplicity, but the director's cut is just silly and kind of pretentious. Just my opinion. What are your thoughts?

I sewed my Laura Palmer patch from Poison Apple Studios on to this sweater. Donnie Darko and Twin Peaks might not go together, but they are both eerie and blue-green and somewhat about the loss of innocence, so the combination makes sense in my head.

Bows and toes on my feet.

Rue 21 sweater. Thrifted shirt and skirt. Tights from the Halloween section at Wal-Mart. Five-year-old Target shoes.
