Snake Eyes and Sissies

I should be packing (only two days until I move!), but procrastinating has always been a problem of mine, so instead I am blogging and listening to Marilyn Manson's Portrait of an American Family and drinking iced coffee, all of which are much, much more fun than packing. (Writing run-on sentences is also a problem of mine.)

Dress, skull tights, and boots from Rue 21. Necklace belonged to my mom's mom.

Applying obnoxious Nancy Downs-inspired lipstick is another great way to procrastinate.

Oh, and in case you ever wondered, this is what a gin and tonic looks like under a blacklight:

Dumpster Diving

A few days ago, Kevin and I had a little adventure, and he took these pictures by a dumpster in my apartment complex.

Sunglasses, dress, and belt - Rue 21. Colorful tights - gift from Addison. Fishnets - unknown. Boots - Wal-Mart.

Since Addison and I are moving soon, I thought I should take a few pictures of our apartment, for nostalgia's sake. (Click to enlarge.)

Our computer desk is a chair, and our table is a bass amp.

Packing everything up and moving is going to be a bitch, but I think all the hassle will be worth it in the end. On that note, I should probably get off this sofa and start filling up those boxes now.

FF#3

Here are some of my favorite things this week:

My new car! I haven't had a car since April, when my Daewoo broke down (R.I.P. Daewoo), so it's nice to finally be able to drive myself around again. My new ride is a Honda, so I named him E. Honda, after this badass:

My yellow-and-red polka dot summer vibe nails are pretty fun.

This cardigan is from Rue 21, and the Laura Palmer patch on the back is from Poison Apple Studios. I have a feeling a lot of my money is going to go to Poison Apple Studios in the future.

Janeane Garofalo in Reality Bites is the cutest thing ever.

Wait, I lied; this T-Rex sticker Courtney gave me is the cutest thing ever.

And here are some links to check out:

Door

This is an outfit I threw together after work last night.

(Yes, that is a Crank: High Voltage poster you see hanging in our living room.)

The skirt-and-shoe combination was inspired by these Miu Miu pumps.

And the scarf I'm wearing is actually a Halloween decoration called "Creepy Cloth," which I got from Dollar Tree.

It reminds me of the tights from Rodarte Fall 2008.

I started reading Neverwhere a few days ago, and I love it so far. I came up with a fun little drinking game to go along with it, too. The only rule of the drinking game is take a drink every time you read the word "door" (whether it be the character's name or any other door). Other literary drinking games I've come up with: drink every time you read "Dumbledore" in any Harry Potter book, and drink every time you read "goddam" in Catcher in the Rye. (Hey, I might be a drunk, but at least I am a well-read drunk.)

Shirt and skirt from Rue 21. Scarf from Dollar Tree. Shoes were a gift from a co-worker. Lipstick is New York Color's Retro Red. Stained nails are a side-effect of lime green nail polish. Dammit.

This cat likes to chill on our back porch sometimes. My apartment complex is inhabited by a lot of outdoor cats (many of which I have given names, like a fluffy white cat I call Lisa Frank and a standoffish white cat I call Hausu), and I will miss them all when I move at the end of the month.

Sometimes I kiss Addison on the cheek, and he thinks I'm being sweet, but really I just think it's funny to stain him with lipstick. WORLD'S BEST GIRLFRIEND.
