Sick Sad World

Black, black, black. Georgia summers are not too kind to silly little Goth girls.

Tiger Army shirt. Shorts and skull tights from Rue 21. Walmart boots.

The shorts-boots-tights combo is a bit Jane Lane.

Now I just need to find the perfect red blazer. And some pizza.

Blue Velvet

Recently I found some great pieces at Providence, my favorite thrift store in town.

Addison took these pictures of me.
The dress on the left reminded me of David Lynch (i.e., Blue Velvet, of course, and the blue-green colors in Twin Peaks). You can't really tell from the picture, but the dress has this eerie-yet-lovely black print all over it that looks like tree branches.

And I bought the translucent black shirt I'm wearing in the photo on the right because it reminded me slightly of Meadham Kirchhoff and the clothes I used to sneak out of my older sister's closet in the nineties.

That snakeskin skirt I'm wearing with the black shirt was also a thrift find.

In addition to these three items, I also got a pair of pink jellies (seen in the "Summer Vibes" post I made recently), a pretty silver-and-gemstone bracelet, and a denim shirt (which I plan to adorn with patches, pins, and paint). And the grand total, tax and all? $20.30. Hell yeah.

Then God is Seven

I was kind of going for grunge witch vibes with this outfit. The plaid skirt is actually a dress, but I folded the top down and put a belt around it to wear it as a skirt. And I used a random pin and brooch to close this big hole on the seam.

Pixies shirt from Hot Topic (it was on sale for $5!). Dress (worn as skirt) from Heritage 1981. Wal-Mart boots. Vintage necklace and turtle brooch. Spider pin was a gift from my mom. Dazed & Confused sunglasses are Kevin's.

Lime Green

Ignore my goofy face.

Jeans, wedges, and socks from Rue 21. The shirt is really old, I think I got it at Hot Topic? The belt was found.

I think I might have gasped and flailed a bit when I first saw these shoes. I love them. And I'm not sure if you can tell from the pictures, but those socks have little sprinkles on them. They came in a pack with other ice cream-themed socks, like a pink and black pair with ice cream cones and a yellow and white pair with popsicles, among others. They are more fun to wear than ordinary socks.

I have a tendency to write everything down. I carry notebooks with me everywhere, and sometimes I just scribble random notes that don't really make sense when I find them later. (Last night I found a note in my pocket that said, "Lanvin." That's it, just "Lanvin." Not really worth wasting a scrap of paper.) Occasionally I will feel really inspired, but I won't know what to do with all that inspiration, so I'll just make lists of what I find inspiring at the moment. I thought I would share some of these lists with you guys (feel special, these lists are in my top secret journal no one is allowed to see).

Excuse my horrendous spelling errors and messy handwriting. But notice how that green nail polish matches my journal and those sprinkle socks.

That's all for today. I wish I could stay home tonight and eat BBQ tofu and play with fire (Happy Fourth of July!), but instead I have to go to work. Ah, well.

They all make life more fun.
